PTFE Coated Wire
PTFE wire is used in many applications, where wire, catheters, and cannulas interact with each other and the body, to reduce friction and provide easier movement.

The new PTFE coating is a result of Sandvik’s continuous, wire coating process i.e. it is applied to the wire before being formed into a medical device. This guarantees a complete coating over the wire surface, which is both consistent and extremely tenacious, and gives better wire quality and performance benefits over ‘electrostatic PTFE spray coating’ techniques applied to the outside surface of a finished device.

The Sandvik PTFE coating can also be applied to provide dielectric properties as an insulator.

Typical coloring of the PTFE coating process is green, although clear finishes and other colors can also be offered.

Flexibility in manufacturing processes and advanced product development capabilities has placed Sandvik Bioline® coated wire at the forefront of precision wire products for medical applications.
